With so many organizations created to help fight poverty in Africa, this campaign seems to be a way ordinary people such as myself can help and feel we are a part of this campaign and not “faceless donors.” Every member I am sure want to do their share of helping those in need, One member mentioned she would like to see more information on the progress, the visits to Africa and how we are making a difference. I think that’s a great idea! If there’s a way we can connect to residents of the village via video, live feeds etc. It would be great! I think when Mr. John took the time to visit and witness what was going on, it became more real for him and thus made the decision to do something about it. Others on this site may not have the opportunity to do such a thing as physically visit Africa; however, through technology we can still have a connection.

The Show Me Campaign seems like a great idea. I think it is still nascent and will take time to get more people involved. Regular updates on what is happening in Tanzania, especially in Mbola would help traffic on the site. On the global poverty issue, awareness is the most important factor in spurring action. If the world was willing to share knowledge with the poor, it would be easy but who I am to say that information is free? But this program is a good beginning. Let’s spread the word. Jean

coming from a country that is hugely affected by poverty, i am quite impressed by your efforts to fight it and would love to be a part of this community that is trying to make our world a better place for everyone. people dont get to choose where they are born and the families they are born into, but we get to choose to make things better or worse for ourselves!

Hey John (and the other Show Me Camp guys – If you filter them, can u pls just make sure this msg gets to him?) It was at the close of a concert I can just about say has become my favorite of all time – a mesmerizing acoustic show witnessed from centre row at Roy Thompson Hall last Friday in Toronto (still can’t get “everybody knows” outta my head…Not to mention “quickly” and “I love, u love” my favs on Evolver)– that I was stunned out of my seat. That moment came when you introduced the SMC and your visit to Tanzania. Tanzania??? Like – for real, MY Tanzania??? I hadn’t heard about your visit, let alone the campaign, which led me to a harried search of all news “JL”, and ultimately led me to this site. Had I known, I’d have brought TZ up when I got the opp to meet u briefly in TO during the summer. (Yes, so I was a tad star struck then, and could barely remember my name…Hindsight is def 20/20!). I would have loved hearing firsthand about your journey to Bongoland ok, would’ve asked u what you ate (and didn’t eat ok), what u drank (konyagi, Mzee?) the Swahili u’ve retained, what shocked the heck outta you, and what made u just simply scratch your head… It’s been great reading your blog, but man, I wanted to hear more! More about your own personal journey to a land I call home. Maybe there’re still some musings bound to your notebook… candid reflections on your trip to a land that speaks volumes by saying nothing at all. Sharing your thoughts and experiences from an environment that’s so outside of your comfort zone would rouse curiosity and inspire, I’m sure. Especially for curious fans who find their way to this site post-concert. I love the idea of being able to donate whilst mobile – genius! But I feel including just a little more of “John Stephen’s” personal experience in your clips and/or during your show would really show your fans what this is all about for you, and why SMC, as you Evolve. I loooove your passion for music, and am a HUGE fan! You compose nourishment for the spirit! However, the respect I have for you now, after checkin out your efforts to end poverty – goes deeeep and beyond musical admiration! Yes, I AM INSPIRED! So inspired I need to do something about it … so I’ve donated… ok, now what?… any volunteer opps with SMC? Either remotely or a reason for a visit back to TZ?… Hmmm… Time to brainstorm on ideas… I’m sure I can come up with a few… Would be great to get updates on how the campaign is progressing, where progress is being made, and as I mentioned above, a blog item from u every now and again. I’ll be workin on involving my friends and family, but…The SMC must stay alive! More events, more discussions, more action! Oh, and more videos out of Zanzibar or TZ would be nice ok Thanks for being such a beautiful human being JL! It is our responsibility as human beings to serve one another, assist one another and uplift one another – thank you for making it possible for those furthest away from Tanzania to directly impact the lives of those that live in Mbola so profoundly.

This is a great site, and with the support of Legend I don’t see why it hasn’t been a huge hit, at least not yet. I think by addressing the youth through MySpace and Facebook, this site could see major hits and thus create some major contributions.

Reminder of the importance of education as the people acquire of identity. Only as in visual items addressing the business shelter of University such the person as with action keeping for those in applications. Now this chance venture a desired benefit: The Show Me Campaign earnestly a reality test that should fame and yet in honest submission return a meaninglessly humble ramification of past societal perfections.

I think this is a wonderful project. At the beginning of this year i wrote that for 2008, my goal was to contribute to my community. It is already August and i am very disappointed with myself because i have not done anything. So today I was just surfing the internet for volunteering options and am happy to say that i found what i was looking for.

I really like the site, thus far. I can’t think of anything to change (as yet).
